The Honda CR-V is one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the U.S., and it's also one of the few vehicles in its class where the rear wiper size hasn't moved in a straight line across generations — it's actually gotten shorter, then longer, then shorter again as Honda reshaped the rear glass with each redesign. That makes it easy to grab the wrong rear blade if you assume "newer means bigger."

This guide breaks down Honda CR-V windshield wiper blade sizes by year, including front and rear blades, so you can confidently choose the right replacements. If you're looking for wiper blade sizes for other vehicles, see our windshield wiper blade size guide by vehicle.

Note: Sizes and fitment type can vary slightly by trim or market. The CR-V's front arms are J-Hook style throughout most of its history, but fitment type changed to Push Button in the most recent generation. If you're on the fence, Windy's Right-Size Guarantee has you covered.

Does the Honda CR-V Have a Rear Wiper?

Yes — every CR-V generation has included a rear wiper, but unlike most SUVs, the rear blade size hasn't grown steadily over time. It's moved 12"→10"→14"→13"→12"→10" across the CR-V's six generations as Honda changed the shape and rake of the liftgate glass. Don't assume your CR-V's rear blade is the same size as a newer or older model year — check the table above every time.

How to Install Wiper Blades on a Honda CR-V

The CR-V has used a J-Hook style connector across most generations, though the connector type has changed to a Push Button with the most recent generation (see table above):

  1. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks in the upright service position.

  2. Lift the small release tab where the blade meets the hook, then slide the old blade off

    1. Or push in the button if using a push button adapter

  3. Slide the old blade down and off the arm.

  4. Slide the new blade onto the hook until it clicks securely into place

  5. Lower the arm slowly back onto the windshield, keeping a hand on it so it doesn't snap down and crack the glass.

Driver vs Passenger Side Wiper Blades

The Honda CR-V always uses different blade lengths on the driver and passenger sides — up to a 5-inch difference on some generations (2023–2025 models run 24" and 19"). Installing two identical blades, a common mistake with universal twin-packs, can leave the passenger side over-swept or the driver's side under-covered.

Honda CR-V Wiper FAQs

Why did the rear wiper get shorter on the 2023+ CR-V?
The current generation's rear glass has a different rake and coverage area than the 2017–2022 model, so Honda spec'd a shorter 10" blade — matching the size used on much older (2002–2006) CR-Vs.

Does the CR-V use the same connector across all generations?
No. Honda used J-Hook style adapters for most generations but has recently switched to Push Button adapters. If a new blade doesn't click into place, check to make sure you have the right connector.

Is the rear wiper blade the same across all CR-V generations?
No. Honda has changed the length of the rear wiper over every generation of CR-V.
